When we look at the impact women have in our community, it is clear that their influence spans generations and continues to shape the future of our region. Each day, women across our 10-parish service area lead with courage, compassion, and commitment to strengthen families, organizations, and neighborhoods.
The Celebrate the Power of Women Awards Luncheon honors women whose leadership and service reflect the values of Capital Area United Way and our affinity groups. By recognizing women across generations and sectors, we celebrate not only individual achievement, but the collective strength that drives meaningful, lasting change in our community.
Intergenerational leadership and collaboration are essential to sustaining progress. Each generation brings unique perspectives, experiences, and insights that enrich our work and expand our impact. Together, these contributions help build a more equitable, connected, and resilient community for generations to come.

2026 Award Categories Open for Nomination
Legacy of Service Award
Honors a leader who has had a positive and lasting influence on the community and will “leave a legacy” across our 10-parish area. This individual is a role model who exemplifies service above self through civic, professional, and/or community engagement, and demonstrates exceptional leadership and commitment to others.
Woman of Inspiration Award
Honors an individual who plays a vital role in serving our community, demonstrates passion for giving back, and inspires others to engage in service. This honoree has made a meaningful contribution of time, talent, or leadership in support of Capital Area United Way’s outreach, fundraising, planning, impact, or internal initiatives.
United 40 Award
Honors the power of an individual age 40 or under who is making a positive and lasting impact in our community. This emerging leader exemplifies excellence in giving, advocating, or volunteering and is beginning a lifelong commitment to service as an up-and-coming difference maker.
Excellence in Social and Community Investment Award
Honors an individual in business or nonprofit leadership who, despite a demanding schedule, prioritizes giving back to the community. This honoree demonstrates integrity, compassion, credibility, humility, and a commitment to empowering others while leading by example through social responsibility and civic engagement.
Nominations for the 2026 Celebrate the Power of Women Awards are due by February 1.
