The Opportunity
Created in partnership with Volunteers in Public Schools, the Emerging Readers program recruits and trains dedicated volunteers to work with a classroom of young children at The Dufrocq School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Volunteers commit to attending at least one of the listed opportunities, in collaboration with other Emerging Leaders members, and will be trained to read to pre-k students using techniques that effectively build literacy skills.
