STEM Event hosted by Capital Area United Way and 100 Black Men
Would you like to be part of something that sparks and ignites a child’s enthusiasm for learning? The world of science provides unlimited potential. Through STEM NOLA, Capital Area United Way and 100 Black Men have partner along with corporate sponsors to bring this opportunity to students in our 10-Parish service area to participate.
What we need is for you to volunteer on the 2nd Saturday of the month to distribute these kits to students. Rest assured we are following all COVID mandates. Volunteers show up at the Gus Young Park at 9am to receive instructions and the students and their parents arrive at 10am until Noon to pick up the kits. Inside these kits are everything they need for the virtual class on the following month. Instructors will walk them through the project. Each month a different activity
This is a fun and interesting volunteer event that has a long-term positive impact for the children in our community.
