One Book Can Make a Difference

To better prepare the Capital Area's youngest readers for successful literacy in kindergarten, CAUW has teamed up with Imagination Library to provide children 5 and under with a monthly, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home. Our local efforts are part of the successful national program founded by Dolly Parton in her home state of Tennessee.

Since 2011, CAUW has raised dollars through corporate sponsorships, grants, and individual donations to provide books to children and families living in the Louisiana Capital Area. In 2018, our Board of Directors voted to cease new enrollments without matched sponsorship dollars into the Imagination Library program due to budgetary constraints.  All children currently enrolled in Imagination Library will continue to be enrolled until aged out upon their 5th birthday. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Edy Addison at 225-382-3503 or edya@cauw.org
