Strategies for Achieving Impact
Support Parents and Caregivers
Capital Area United Way will invest in programs that provide outreach, education/awareness and training to parents and caregivers to increase their parenting skills, provide childcare assistance, and improve knowledge about their child's education.
Enter School Ready to Learn
Capital Area United Way will invest in programs that provide services around developmental assessments and school readiness skills for individuals aged 0-5 years.
Prepare for College, Work and Life
Capital Area United Way will invest in programs that provide preparation for traditional and nontraditional students for life after the K-12 system. Programs should focus on elementary, middle and high school students, as well as students returning for a high school diploma. Services may include: career awareness, social skills, life skills and summer/afterschool programming to supplement the learning taking place during the school day.
Metrics for Success
Each program funded under these strategies will report metrics based on the results based accountability framework. The framework answers the following questions in each category:
How much did we do?
How well did we do it?
How many are better off?
How are they better off?
