Capital Area United Way (CAUW) is committed to honoring the privacy and the wishes of our supporters at all times. We collect and maintain only information that is specifically and knowledgably provided to us by individuals or their companies. CAUW will never rent, exchange, or sell your personal information to its partners, member agencies or any other third parties without your prior consent. We will only share personally identifiable information with a third party if (i) we are required to by law (ii) it is necessary for completing an authorized operation, for instance to process a credit card transaction, or (iii) if the person submitting the information asks that it be shared. We do maintain records on our contributors, which we regard as private and confidential and store securely with access limited to authorized staff.
CAUW respects the privacy of its online visitors. We do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless they provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. This means we do not require you to register or provide information in order to view our site.

Signing up for E-newsletters or other E-mail communication
When you sign up to receive E-newsletters or other E-communication, we ask for your name and E-mail address. If you wish to be added to our physical mailing list, you may provide your mailing address at this time.
Donating online
When you make a gift online by credit card, you must submit your name, credit card number and billing information. When you make a gift online and select the bank draft method, you must submit your name and bank information. This information allows us to process and fulfill your donation and to notify you of your donation status. All information is secure and credit card information is not held in Capital Area United Way’s database.
Other Information Tracked
When you request speakers, register as a campaigner, request information about running a campaign, enter a sweepstakes, complete a survey, vote in online polls or any other function that uses a submit/go feature, we may track personal information you provide in our secure database of community supporters.
What We Do With Information Gathered
Usage Tracking
CAUW tracks user traffic patterns, but this tracking is not associated with individual users.
Our Database
CAUW retains information provided by users in a secure database. This database may be used to verify donation transactions, thank supporters for their contributions, keep supporters informed or to solicit future donations. CAUW understands that most people do not want a lot of mail or e-mail, so we keep our communication frequency within reasonable limits. You may request to be removed from our database at any time by submitting your request to Capital Area United Way. All information is secure and credit card information is not held in this database. Information in this database is not shared, traded, sold or rented to any third parties.
Opt-Out Policy
If you'd like to discontinue your relationship or part of your relationship with CAUW, simply contact our website administrator at laurag@cauw.org to be removed from our database.
Correcting/updating personally identifiable information
If you believe the information collected by CAUW is incorrect or inappropriate, simply contact our website administrator: laurag@cauw.org to have your information changed.
