Strategies for Achieving Impact
Gain and Sustain Employment
Capital Area United Way will invest in programs that provide edcuational opportunities, job skills training (both hard and soft skills), job placement services and career counseling to individuals, unemployed or underemployed, who are looking for a family-sustaining career opportunity. These services may be conducted one-on-one or through group classes.
Increase Financial Skills
Capital Area United Way will invest in programs that provide training and essential skills around credit repair, debt management, budgeting and emergency savings, helping individuals build good financial habits. These programs may be conducted one-on-one or in a group setting.
Capital Area United Way will invest in programs that provide specialized products, helping individuals acquire assets. Assets are defined as small business development, home ownership, car ownership, or increased educational attainment. Services include IDA programs, low-interest car loans, micro-lending services and counseling/training classes, which aim at increasing the attainment of long-term financial goals.
Metrics for Success
Each program funded under these strategies will report metrics based on the results based accountability framework. The framework answers the following questions in each category:
How much did we do?
How well did we do it?
How many are better off?
How are they better off?
