Companies and volunteers that participate in Capital Area United Way Workplace Giving Campaigns recognize the growing need in our community and choose Capital Area United Way as the way to help.
The following volunteer campaign coordinators (listed alphabetically by last name) exemplified this effort by leading some of the most successful company campaigns in our 10-parish Capital Area:
Ashley A. Ballard, PHR, Wink Companies, LLC:
“This was my first year participating in a campaign and to be honest, I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. I learned a great deal about United Way through this campaign, and I am glad I had the opportunity to generate support for such a worthy cause. It was a very rewarding experience.”
Sheila Van Geffen, Dow Chemical:
“The success of the United Way campaign at Dow is the result of the generosity of Dow employees in their time, talent, and efforts to support our campaign activities. These activities promote getting involved and raising awareness of the important services that the Capital Area United Way provides to our community. The Dow Chemical Company is proud to support the Capital Area United Way and it's mission to improve lives.”
“The employees at CF Industries know that people in our community are in need. They are very generous and glad that they can help through United Way.”
Marree Saltaformaggio, Woman’s Hospital:
“I support the United Way because of what it stands for: to help others in many ways by reaching out to help improve the life or situation of an individual at a time when they are in desperate need. This is done not only in a physical manner, but also in a very supportive and caring way. I believe we were very successful here at Woman's Hospital because this is what we strive to do everyday. I just asked for each and every employee to look very hard at the possibility that they could help improve the life of another by giving what they could. Of course we had incentives (raffles for free garage parking for a year, a generator, vacation day's, and a Jambalaya Dinner cooked by the United Way winning team), but people were willing to give because they believed in what United Way is doing for the community.”
Darlene Shingleur, Neighbors Federal Credit Union:
“Neighbors Federal Credit Union credits this past year’s success to the dedication of the staff and management who recognize
the value of supporting our local communities through their involvement with the Capital Area United Way. “
