How to Apply for Funding
Core Funding
The purpose of Core Funding is to maintain quality-tested infrastructure to deliver base services through member agencies and to serve as a platform for growth and strategic change.
Agency membership is a prerequisite for core funding but does not guarantee it. The amount of core funding received by a member agency is based on the agency’s record in meeting all outcomes established during membership review and site visits. The amount of core funding is budgeted for the term of the agency’s membership.
The amount of core funding may increase or decrease based on strategic considerations not related to agency performance.
Strategic Grants
The purpose of Strategic Grants is to achieve specific outcomes of measurable change in existing programs or to address unmet needs.
Strategic Grants can be a source of initial funding for agencies that have not received core funding.
Strategic Grants may be used to initiate new services, expand existing services, improve efficiency or effectiveness of service delivery, or to purchase specific services.
To receive a Strategic Grant, recipient organization must meet existing CAUW member agency qualifications.
The term of funding for a Strategic Grant may vary depending on the nature of the project; however, there is a three year maximum on a Strategic Grant. Continuation of a Strategic Grant beyond the first year is dependent on successfully completing an annual funding review.
Extraordinary Funding
Extraordinary Funding refers to funding, usually by direction of the Board of Directors, which cannot be categorized as either Core Funding or Strategic Grant.
