Community Health Charities of Louisiana

In 2006, Capital Area United Way announced its partnership with Community Health Charities of Louisiana (CHCLA). This partnership recognizes the roles prevention, intervention and research play in making sure help gets where it is needed most.

Sixteen affiliated agencies will be eligible for a portion of the funds raised through the CAUW campaign based upon a formula established in the CAUW-CHCLA partnership agreement. That funding will be awarded directly to CHCLA. CHCLA will in turn distribute the funds among the Affiliated Agencies. The CHCLA Affiliated Agencies will not be considered CAUW Member Agencies. However, they will be required to provide reports on local programs and be willing to work with CAUW to increase local outcomes and/or improve these services if requested by CAUW.

This partnership expands the reach of Capital Area United Way by offering local donors an array of health charities.
