You may be missing out on a federal refund up to several thousand dollars because you are not aware of the Earned Income Tax Credit and other tax benefits.
Capital Area United Way and partners of the Capital Area Asset Building Coalition are engaging volunteers in providing free tax assistance, which will help many local taxpayers receive the benefits they deserve and help them to invest it in their future. Taxpayers who come to Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites can also learn about other asset-building programs, such as: Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) and financial and homebuyer education. Such programs will help leverage their refund towards financial success.
